Ah if it's just used for a frontend, yeah probably a moot point.  Lets
close this out.  If someone else develops this issue again and gets
pointed at this bug, please open a new bug and let's debug before you
start tinkering.

Bug description:
  when updating to 12.04 from 11.10.  I'm guessing it errored because I
  didn't type in a new mysql root password, which it said would make it
  keep the same password.
