hmmm, changing around hdhomerun's ... had the status window
(hdhomeerun_config... 4 tuners... 4 windows... )

the problem might be that (as a stop-gap use) i used a wd powerlime
adapter as  hub to connect to lan cables to together (not using the
powerline feature, just the hub switch)

so my guess is that the bandwidth got choked and thus this error... but
then again this a wild guess.
