Title:
  VIA Technologies, Inc. VT6306/7/8 Firewire connected to set-top box
  for MythTV periodically stops working

Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:

Bug description:
  My system, which was working under 10.04 with the old kernel firewire
  stack was stable and working, however after upgrading to Mythbuntu
  12.04.2 it periodically dies.

  It appears this kernel.org commit may resolve the issue

  I'm hoping it can be integrated into the Mythbuntu kernel sources.
