I just tried running Software Update (new kernel, etc.) before
installing the Nvidia 319 driver on a different drive and I got the text
only login screen.

Bug description:
  Installing Nvidia 340 driver in a fresh install of MythBuntu 12.04.2
  works OK, but doing the same thing in 12.04.3 results in text only
  login on restart.
