More info...

I can watch a show recorded before the upgrade.  However I can't seem to
record anything new and all my recording schedules are not showing up.
I can see the program listing however.

  mythbackend crashed with SIGSEGV in MainServer::customEvent()

Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
  New

Bug description:
  Started happening after upgrading from mythtv 2:0.25.2+fixes.20120802.46cab93-0ubuntu1
  No obvious issues with the upgrade itsself.  Ran mythtv-setup to update the DB.  Had that run mythfilldatabase after that.  Saw some errors suggesting connectivity issues with the backend.

  Before the crash, the mythtv frontend and the web interface are very
  slow and often give errors about the backend not responding.

  mythtv is not usable in current state.
