[Bug 653879] Re: Archive File Settings do not persist

We really do appreciate you opening this ticket to help improve
Mythbuntu, but it needs to be closed for a number of reasons. The
biggest one is that upstream believes this to be fixed in the latest
version. Could you please verify if this issue still exists in the
latest version?

Please do not let the closing of this ticket dissuade you from opening a
new ticket if this (or any other) problem occurs with the newer
versions.

Title:
Archive File Settings do not persist

Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
The values that are set by Utilities|Setup > Settings > Media Settings
  > Archive File Settings do not persist. So if the frontend crashes
then you lose your settings, and you must set up those values again.
Also, if you go back into Archive File Settings to check, or just to
see what they are, then everything is reset to the defaults. This is
horrible user interface. Values set by the user must persist until
explicitly changed. There can be an option to view the default, or to
highlight those values that are not equal to the default, or to set
the value to the default without knowing what that value is; but
anything that the user sets must be remembered, particularly for every
  re-invocation and across every crash.

For instance, the default recording format is PAL. Go into Archive
File Settings, change it to NTSC, do a normal exit. Then immediately
go into Archive File Settings again, and it will report PAL.
Similarly for the pathname location to store recordings, the recording
quality (SP, LP, EP, HQ), etc.

  mythbuntu 10.04
  mytharchive 0.23.0+fixes24104-0ubuntu2
  mythbuntu-default-settings 0.96-ubuntu1.
