[Bug 1038668] Re: mythtv-setup wrapper script uses xterm instead of x-terminal-emulator
Hello. As far as I can see, this bug is still valid. As I said in the
original text, this is a bug in Ubuntu-specific code (written by Mario
Limonciello), so is not affected by upstream changes. Looking in
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-
branches/ubuntu/vivid/mythtv/vivid/view/head:/debian/mythtv-setup.sh the
script still calls xterm specifically, rather than x-terminal-emulator
as I believe it should.

Title:
mythtv-setup wrapper script uses xterm instead of x-terminal-emulator
Status in Mythbuntu, Ubuntu derivative focused upon MythTV:
Expired
Bug description:
The Ubuntu-specific mythtv-setup script (that wraps around mythtv-
setup.real) specifically calls xterm to run a couple of processes.
Instead, it should call x-terminal-emulator in order to run the users
preferred terminal emulator. This would result in a more unified
experience for the user - e.g. displaying the same fonts and using the
same scrolling mechanism with which the user is familiar.
There might be a problem with different terminal emulators using
different command-line parameters. For example, gnome-terminal and
roxterm use --title rather than -title that xterm uses.
