[Bug 774112] Re: lirc doesn't work: "mode2: initializing '/dev/input/eventX' This program does not work for this hardware yet
That mode2 doesn't work for /dev/input devices is as expected. The
manpage describes that it displays timing data, but there is no such
data available on /dev/input/* which already are decoded.

Upgraded from 10.04 to 11.04 and can't make my Hauppauge HVR-3000
remote work.
mode2: initializing '/dev/input/eventX'
This program does not work for this hardware yet
after lircd -H dev/input -d /dev/input/eventX
irrecord and irw can't get any input
