Solved for me. Version 0.28 doesn't seem to jump to the settings page if
there's a connection problem so i had to edit the config files in
/etc/mythtv/config.xml and ~/.mythtv/config.xml to stop the endless

  front-end crashed: exit code 130

Status in Mythbuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Since my Upgrade from Mythbuntu 14.04 to 16.04 including upgrading MythTV 0.27 to 0.28 at the same time, after booting my system everytime i get a screen to choose my country and language.
  After setting this, the frontend crasches with the following message:

  Restarting Frontend
  The front-end crashed unexpextedly
  (exit code 130) and is restarting.
  Please wait...

  After a few seconds (after restarting) all works fine.
  But on the next system boot, the same procedure appears again.
