[Bug 488568] Re: package lirc 0.8.6-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127

Hi, can you please try again with the latest lirc from zesty (a.k.a. upcoming 17.04 version), and set the status back to "new" in case you still experience such issue?
You can also try it from my ppa, where I backported it to xenial and yakkety releases (16.04 and 16.10)

Title:
package lirc 0.8.6-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess
installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127

Status in lirc package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: lirc

Lirc stopped working suddenly. ATI Remote Wonder II was working with
usual limited function, then stopped. I tried to reinstall Lirc and...
  here I am.

Maybe if the bug gets fixed, I can actually use the remote to control
  Mythtv... though I doubt it.
