[Bug 786254] Re: lirc not working, irw empty, irrecord no gap found

The last lirc update 0.9.4 more or less obsoletes this bug since this
kind of configuration doesn't take place. In order to verify this bug we
need some testing on the latest version.

If you are still interested in this bug, please provide some feedback
from testing with 0.9.4c- Otherwise, without further input, let's
eventually close this bug.

Title:
lirc not working, irw empty, irrecord no gap found

Status in lirc package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: lirc

I'm trying to use the Ir remote control from my Pinnacle PCTV,

  In dpkg-reconfigure, I've selected /dev/input/by-path/pci-0000:00:1d.7
  -event-ir as device

Lirc is starting without failure, but it seems that lirc is receiving
  no signal from the device...

When trying to use irrecord, I get :
  Hold down an arbitrary button.
irrecord: gap not found, can't continue
  irrecord: closing '/dev/input/by-path/pci-0000:00:1d.1-usb-0:1:1.2-event'
