  Boot logs show that mythtv-backend attempts to start several times before mysql has started. 

  $ systemctl cat mythtv-backend.service

  shows:
  After=mysqld.service

  needs:
  After=mysql.service

  
  Verify:
  $ systemctl cat mysqld.service
  No files found for mysqld.service.
