David Planella proposed the following answer:
MyUnity's translations permissions are set so that anyone can provide
suggestions but they will need to be reviewed by the Ubuntu Simplified
Chinese translation team to be accepted.

I'd recommend getting in touch with them at:
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-zh-cn

If your preferred language in your Launchpad profile is set to Polish,
you should see the Polish translation, there should be no need to add
it.
