Message #00564
retries?
Hi team,
There are several reasons for scheduled backups to fail (disk not
mounted, disk full, remote server down, no network, etc.). Currently,
this means that a (daily) backup will be skipped, and the next attempt
is at the next scheduled time.
It may be desirable, however, to have some form of retry, even perhaps
with prompt. So, in the morning, sbackup will start as scheduled, and
prompt me to plug in the USB drive if it isn't there already. Or, it
tries a remote backup as scheduled at 9.00, but fails since I'm late and
still in the train. It could retry at 9.30 when I'm at work and
connected. Or, it may prompt me to please connect to the network.
Does this seem like a sensible addition? IMHO, these are typical
use-cases for laptop users. (Having regular (daily) backups is
particularly important for laptops, in case of theft, loss, etc...)

Anton
