Just to let you know that I made a copy of the "corrupted" snapshot and
tried to revert to 1.4 format as detailed above.

I forgot to write that you have to copy the ver file from a previous
backup too.

Upon restart it recognized the snapshot again as an 1.4 and it is doing
the update right now.
