No, this is typical for FTP servers and not a bug.

The error you encounter is quite unusual and has something to do with
GIO. I guess with GIO fuse backend.

Did you tried this: Does the backup work if you create an empty folder
in `/home/ufoofeuropa` (e.g. my-backups) and specify this one as
destination?
