Hardy-amd64, kernel 2.6.24-28-generic
* what version of sbackup is installed; from where was it installed (PPA, from source)?
version 0.10.4 installed from official repository with synaptic, see here: http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/sbackup
* Is the bug reproducible; does it happen every time?
Yes
* is your backup destination on a local drive or remote?
it is a local sATA disk, partition formatted ext3
* do you run sbackup as superuser (root) or as regular user?
as root (cron-job)
* Do backups work in general for you?
Yes
* Do manual backups (started from Configuration GUI) work as expected?
Yes, but they experience the very same bug/problem as described
* How do you invoke the backup process?
generally by cron-job as root, sometimes manuaklly as root from the GUI.
