Thank you for using nssbackup and reporting this issue. Please note that
nssbackup and sbackup were re-merged. You should consider to switch to
current sbackup 0.11 (https://launchpad.net/sbackup).

It is hard (impossible) to determine the compressed size before actually compressing the data. That said, it's impossible to check available free space based on the size of the compressed data. Therefore, I mark this as 'Won't fix'.
