The issue is cause by malformed markup:

/usr/share/sbackup/sbackup/ui/misc.py:215: GtkWarning: Failed to set text from markup due to error parsing markup: Error on line 3 char 32: 'root@xxxxxx' is not a valid name: '@'
  dialog.set_markup(_msg)
