[Bug 857824] Re: Wishlist: Update to Unison 2.40.63

an update to a new version can only be done via backports.
do people often need 2.32 and 2.4 at the same time? that would require renaming the unison package to add a version and make it coinstallable
a simple backport of unison would be simpler but people would have to deinstall and reinstall to change version

see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports
use the requestbackport script from ubuntu-dev tools to request one.

Title:
  Wishlist: Update to Unison 2.40.63

Status in “unison” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Wishlist: Update to Unison 2.40.63, since this is the latest stable
version. Also, Unison 2.4 is the currently version most easily
installed on on FreeBSD, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows (and Unison
is picky about version numbers), so it would be easier to set up a
multi-OS Union sync system with Unison 2.4.
