[Bug 344357] Re: The Ubuntu splash screen (while booting) is stretched
I managed to reproduce it. I tried to change the boot configurations in
the following way:
1. edit /usr/lib/usplash.conf to the proper configuration (1024x600 instead of the default but oviously wrong 1024x768)
2. edit the vga code in the boot menu.
I still get the stretch splash screen. Unfortunately the mini 9 video
driver does not handle in vga mode widescreen, so any code which doesn't
correspond to either 800x600 or 648x480 is not accepted.
So really the simplest way to fix this is by recreating the splash
screen image stretched in the opposite direction so that it appears
correctly at boot.
