Bars & Restaurants recommendations

 

Hello Guiris,

I've made some kind of investigation regarding bars and restaurants around
Barcelona that I would like to share with you:

- Barceloneta (L´Escar 22, Moll de Pescadors)
Mediterranean restaurant. Nice views to the harbour. Somewhat touristic.

Mediterranean restaurant. Specialty: cod.

- La Ferrería (Neptú, 4)
Spanish restaurant. Good fish and meat.

- O´Bierzo (Calle Vila y Vilà 73)
Spanish restaurant. Food from Bierzo, Castile and León, region

- La Gavina (Pau Vila 1 square, Palau de Mar building)
Mediterranean restaurant. Any fish is fine.

- El Xalet (Avda. de Miramar, 31)
Good restaurant with a really nice view of the city from the Montjuïc hill
(really expensive also)

- La Esquinica (subway station: Virrei Amat, line 5)
Quite crowded, though not touristic, place. Recommended to get there before
21:00 to avoid queuing for long time. Closed on Monday.

- Txikiteo (Josep Anselm Clavé, 7)
Basque tavern near Colon Monument in the Les Rambles area. Not specially
expensive or crowded.

- Lizarran
Basque tavern franchise that is present even in California. In Barcelona, some
of them are found in the Gothic quarter.

- Viena Pelai (Pelai, 16)
Fast-food chain of restaurants. Sandwiches specialties:

P.S. Guiri is a spanish word that is applied to foreigners, specially those from
northern Europe and USA.

I would say that if you avoid points (1) and (5), then you're fine.
