Message #00123
Re: OpenCog Planet Blog, GSoC post, new lists, daily reports to opencog-dev
Hi All,
Ben asked that I write a post for the SIAI blog about our GSoC experience,
and to serve as a public announcement of the accepted students. The same
post will be used to kick-off the OpenCog Brainwave collaborative blog at
http://brainwave.opencog.org on May 5.
So, this message is a call for anything you'd like included in the post.
I'll include your content, or quote you if you prefer (mention this in your
note). Please try to write 1-2 paragraphs that sum up your highlights of the
GSoC experience to date.
For regular content on http://brainwave.opencog.org, Joel has generously
committed to writing 2 posts/week, with content from his daily progress
reports and anything else he's inspired to write. I'd be very pleased for
similar commitments from anyone on the dev team, Linas and Gustavo
particularly! :-)
In the same spirit of FOSS openness, Ben ok'd my request for daily progress
reports to be cc'd to opencog-dev@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (archived at
http://lists.launchpad.net/opencog-dev/ ).
Curuiosly, Sam Adams wrote me today inquiring about a news/announcements
feed for OpenCog. I belive that many people find the main discussion group
opencog@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx too noisly, so to compliment the new blog and the
existing general discussion list, the new list
opencog-announce@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx was created (archived at
http://groups.google.com/group/opencog-announce ); the list can be announced
any time on the main list, and will be included in the SIAI and Brainwave
posts.
One last administravia note, the soc@xxxxxxxxxxx temporary mentor list is
being replaced with opencog-soc@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (archived at
http://groups.google.com/group/opencog-soc ). The list is open, with
members-only posting, and presently contains all student (+1 or higher) and
mentor applicants from GSoC '08.
Cheers,
-dave
