The proposal to merge lp:~therp-nl/partner-contact-management/no_split_for_companies into lp:partner-contact-management has been updated.

Description changed to:

For companies, a split name is unwanted in all cases I can imagine. Fortunately, there's a write function on the name field so that we can simply write into it.

It might become awkward if you make a company from John Doe, als you'll only be able to edit Doe but see John Doe, but I prefer this over possible data loss if we mess with the write function to try to clean up the name when making a partner a company.
