That sounds compelling :-)

I've heard something about Cucumber based tests, is that the same thing
? I personnally have nothing against Ruby, except that I don't know
anything about it -- and don't know many people knowledgeable people
either. That'd be a no-issue for a general process launcher such as
buildbot, obviously.

Great, that'd be a pleasure.

Among more advanced features that we have right now, there's port
reservation for functional testing and attribution to buildslaves
filtered by capability, in case dependencies that can't be installed by
the build itself are needed (besides PostgreSQL, which is a bit
hardcoded in the system).
These are used at the moment in our buildbot instance for customer
projects only, IIRC, but that may change soon.
