it runs on

 * ubuntu 13.10
 * debian 6.0.8

downloaded the
https://github.com/wkhtmltopdf/wkhtmltopdf/releases/download/0.12.0/wkhtmltox-linux-amd64_0.12.0-03c001d.tar.xz

extract it
cp ./wkhtmltox/bin/wkhtmltopdf to the directory where the old version 
was - in my case replaced the
/usr/local/bin/wkhtmltopdf-amd64

thats it.
