I'm developing a version of this feature which plugs into the OCA 
margin-analysis addons here :

Please join in there and comment my proposal, don't redevelop it.

Alternatively, OdooMRP has another implementation incubating in 
https://github.com/odoomrp/odoomrp-wip/ (module *product_last_price_info*).
