Addresses from order import
Hello Community,
we consider that for each Magento order to import the delivery and the
billing address is added to the database. There is no synchronization of
these addresses (of course), but there's no function to match addresses
of new imported orders to existing addresses in the database, too.
The result for our current case is, that there will be a huge amount of
duplicates, because normally shop users are ordering serveral times
using the same addresses.
Our idea to solve this issue is as following:
1) Insert a readonly/historical flag to res.partner to mark addresses
imported with orders and of course forbit editing of marked addresses.
2) Add a matching function for marked addresses. So when importing
orders form magento and try to add a delivery or a billing address to
database, look if it's already there first. The function consider marked
addresses for search domain only.
What are you thinking about that suggestion?
Is there someone with a similar problem?
Does someone already solve it?
Did we miss something?
Thank you for your feedback
Best Regards,
Katja
