Hi, a few notes:

sale_simple_pos (and related modules listed in the module description) are
to be found in the community extra addons (I'll move them in extra addons as
soon as I have a clean process to port the history).
sale_simple_pos has many advantages but is still based on the notion of
invoices + payments reconciled with them

BTW, if you encode payments directly with no invoice, won't you have
reconciliation issues? So you would like to generate the payment counterpart
at the same time the payment is generated but without invoice document? In
our case, sale_simple_pos was made for small companies that marginally sale
in shops so they don't require a true POS like OpenbravoPOS (up to say 10
sales an hour seems reasonable), while they can't use the B2B sale interface
from OpenERP because entering payments, dealing with stock management and
invoice was really too much complex for those repetitive sales by non ERP
specialists.

It seems we might port those modules to v6 by the way, not sure yet about a
deadline for that.
