IMHO, Web Client Must be totally separated tool from server, in a serious
enviroment, is not a problem how many programs you need to install, as Linux
it self does, several little things that works VERY WELL is the correct way.
It will still possible, you can run the webclient a separate process, like i said it's the best of both worlds. They will be distributed separately.
openerp-server
openerp-addons that you can untar in openerp/addons/
openerp-web that you can untar in openerp/addons/ (one server) or run standalone.
Also with multiprocessing, launching different workers setrlimited() and with limited lifetime will mitigate most of the stability problems like memory leaks or overmallocing.
I think one of the gratest things OpenERP has is that you can sleep really
quite because you have a client web AND a client GTK, if the client have
problems (what is so common), you will not stop operation at all, you can
solve and use another tool by your side.
Client - Web has been in constant evolution, but in other side, it brakes a
lot, introduce ALL this noise in an enterprise enviroment IMHO is SO SO dangerous.
And please, we in community and partners want to be sure that the future will
be as solid as the present is or better, introduce experimental features, what
dont increase ANY value on the business objective, just technical toys for
experimental propose needs to be explained a lot more, and tested more before
make a big change like this....
Sorry generally i'm agreed with technical OpenERP moves, but this IMHO THis is
particulary so so risky.
