Re: [Openerp-community-leaders] Local Communities Websites

Hello Olivier and the others,

Thank you for the update. I think all your proposal sound fair. If at some
point one can propose a platform, why not.
On the contrary, I think it's fair to simply redirect on the existing
website of the technology of their choice when the local community already
has a good website, just as you proposed. Let's take
http://www.openerpbrasil.org: we had a spontaneous very nice and fair
contribution from a small Northern Brazil company called DMD2
http://www.dmd2.com.br/ so they made the great design of
http://www.openerpbrasil.org/ and just put their logo discretely in the
footer (there aren't even OpenERP integrators yet, it's only a nice synergy
with them so they can showcase their design skills) while we took care of
the Radiant CMS stuff at Akretion (and again not doing anything more than
discretely putting the logo in the footer; we will list here all official
and non official Brazilian integrators, we are the only official one so
far). BTW, we also fought to have the non localization related documentation
to be a translation of the official documentation (using Shpinx and
Launchpad then as you explained recently) rather than have noobs documenting
partially and wrongly and in a brittle manner as they want, that would
rather have passed an distorted vision of what OpenERP really is.

Now imagine you force to switch the nice design and content of
http://www.openerpbrasil.org for a quick and bad generic design that won't
appeal to the average Brazilian user, I think this would be disrespectful to
the local actors who took the initiative and invested work one year before
already. Now if some local community doesn't have some nice neutral entry
point already, yes it might be useful to give them something be default, I
like that.
All right, so basically I'm okay with those proposals, I'll send the
redirection info soon (Heroku apps are a bit special to redirect).
