I've just done it, but had to wait until the 6.1 series translations templates
were all properly imported and visible on Launchpad, to avoid confusing
translators (it takes a while when we branch off a new series)

BTW, although it is of course better to point translators to the exact same
translations as used in the current stable branch, it is important to know that
translations are automatically shared between series. What this means is that
as soon as someone translates "XXX" in French in the trunk series, if that same
"XXX" term exists within the same template in other series (and is currently
untranslated), it will automatically be translated as well.
This is critical to avoid duplicating translation efforts, but is perhaps not a
well-known fact. It also means that translations done on the "wrong" series
don't have to be re-done in other series (for the shared terms at least).
