[Question #235746]: Storing manuals in with better version control?

New question #235746 on OpenERP Management System:
https://answers.launchpad.net/openerp-mgmtsystem/+question/235746

Hi,

Hello, it's a bit long.. :)

This is the scenario:
We have several manuals written is word and excel. We'd like to use the document (manual) part of this module to store and keep track of the manuals, procedures, etc.

Copy pasting is not an option because the people creating the documents want to keep using their text editor.
The other option is to create a new document in the Manuals menu and then attach the existing document. This option seems to be bad for revision and version tracking. If I keep attaching a manual (doc) with the same file name, but updated content, I end up with a list of all the attachments, instead of just one main attachment.

One way to get around this was (I think) to use webdav. The users can mount the webdav share, work directly on the file and then save it. Then, maybe find another software to keep track of version, modification, etc.
I installed webdav openerp module, but I coulnd't find where to tell mgmtsystem to use webdav for storing the new manuals.

Is this the way to go?

Thanks for your help!
