I think this decision should be up to the authors of existing modules: 
if the author does not want to keep maintaining their modules alone 
anymore, they could want to move these modules to openerp-manufacturing 
project.
Otherwise, they will keep their own repository and the 
openerp-manufacturing project will include a link to it.

It can be noted that in extra-addons branch there are several production 
modules that have never been ported to 6.1 (not even to 6.0 sometimes). 
In this case, we should contact the original authors and ask them if 
they agree to move their modules to openerp-manufacturing repository.
