adding/removing employees, resources and users...
Hello service experts,
we have a v6.0 customer that find it very non user friendly to do the
following: in order to manage their civil engineering resources, each time
they add or remove an employee, they should:
- register the HR employee (done by HR department)
- also register the a user (only ERP admin can do that, else it's a security
hole) (because project members are users)
- also register a resource (resource.resource object), they can then
allocate to a project
Currently this is a very complex task, involving several screens and hardly
understood concepts for the HR and it also suppose strong interaction with
the ERP administrator. This is not effective and they should do it several
times a week.
Did you already think about how we could work around this?
I was thinking that we could do an extension so that creating an employee
would create automatically (overriding the create method) a related user
with no access right by default (so at least the project manager can select
it as a project member), that would already make remove the dependency upon
the ERP admin.
Now, for creating the resource I see no very simple solution as an employee
could have several associated resources, in our specific case, resources
also have a resource template (they belong to a resource model and
allocation will try to follow the model allocation after the project has
been quoted and sold).
Do you have ideas on how to improve that employee addition/removing flow?
Thanks in advance,
