I found and fixed the problem.

Page number was included in internal header definition in previous
OpenERP versions and hence overstriking the report genereated page
numbers.

using the 6.1 rml headers works fine.

Title:
  reports page numbers print problem

Status in OpenERP Addons (modules):
  Invalid

Bug description:
  many (all ?)  reports have a problem printing page numbers (may be
  only  for companies with longer company names ?)

  in Austria many companyies have long names 
  example we have a lot of    (my-name + GmbH & Co KG) this gets realy long
