These EDI terms appear on the EDI preview page that is displayed when a partner receives an e-mail notification for a newly-issued invoice or order. You can have a look at what this looks like in the OpenERP 6.1 release notes for instance:

The terms are used within an (X)HTML template so unfortunately inner
HTML tags will cause the original sentence to be split into multiple
terms that have to be translated separately. In order to save the
trouble of configuring and testing the EDI features you can simply have
a look at the source code that is mentioned in the "context" links for
these translations:

1. http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~openerp/openobject-addons/6.1/view/head:/edi/static/src/xml/edi.xml#L62
2. http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~openerp/openobject-addons/6.1/view/head:/edi/static/src/xml/edi_account.xml#L151

That should help you understand the context of these partial sentences.
