I have checked your Issue with following configuration,
• Thunderbird 10.0.2
• OpenERP v6.1
• plugin 1.0.1 
But I did not face any problem. It's working fine at my end. I have attached video for your reference. Would please check it and notify us where you have faced the problem.

  thunderbird plugin: error in documents

Bug description:
  Hi,

  I'm using Thunderbird 10.0.2 with OpenERP v6.1 with thunderbird plugin
  1.0.1 installed.

  When I select Openerp->Documents, the following error pops up in the
  server:

  ProgrammingError: operator does not exist: character varying = numeric
  LINE 1: ...M "mail_message" WHERE (mail_message."message_id" in (133174...
                                                               ^
  HINT: No operator matches the given name and argument type(s). You might need to add explicit type casts.
