I experience the same problem.

I noticed that when you alter the date of a timesheet line which is not
linked, you get a message "Changing the date will let this entry appear
in the timesheet of the new date." After the modification is done, the
timesheet line is correctly linked to a timesheet and appears when you
go to the timesheet view.

Some further investigation indicates that the problem seems to be the
function field 'sheet_id' in the hr_timesheet_line class. When I look
into the database (table hr_analytic_timesheet), the sheet_id is not
filled in after creating a timesheet line directly. When I manually fill
in the field in the database, the line appears on the timesheet view.
The field also gets filled in (or updated) after I modify the date of
the timesheet line (via the openerp interface).

  If you create a timesheet line directly from the "Timesheet Lines" link, it is not attached to a specific timesheet. 
   It does appear in the Timesheet Lines list but not in the timsheets view.  
  It causes also issue with the "Billing rates on Contracts" module (wrong product selected for a given analytic account)
  Incoherence between daily and summary tab in timesheet view
