Message #15269
[Bug 1046416] Re: [6.1] decimal precision settings for sale, purchase and hr don’t allow to comply with the law when using product price units with more than 2 digits.
The patch renames/adds several decimal precision settings, and modifies other unrelated things. It is a valid way to improve the situation in a development version, but is not acceptable for a stable version: it breaks backwards-compatibility and will cause random bad surprises in production environments where decimal precision values have been customized for some reason.
A new minimalist patch (inspired by the trunk one) needs to be written for 6.0, in a way that does not breaking existing installations, while still solving the bug described in your google document.
If your customer wants to use the trunk patch, you always have the
option to deploy it as a customization, knowing that it will migrate
properly to 7.0.
PS: wrt your google doc, writing long sentences in caps is still
considered offensive as far as I can tell

Please read the full report with appropriate screenshots:
https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1plcP7U1Fbzbtcu_m2JZLyksnBT6UXwwgjXVu874s-d0
This is reproducible on head 6.1 on the runbot and is a blocking bug
for one of our customers with an Enterprise contract here in Sao
Paulo. Therefor, the bug will be also immediately reported to the
OpenERP SA support channel.
Notice that Akretion fixed the bug on trunk (v7) as explained in the
link. We are here asking for a backport on 6.1 so our customer can
comply with the law requirements on 6.1.
