Our proposal was rejected.
No reason was given, but Olivier thinks a simpler way can be found that would not require client-side changes.
Also, our proposal only fixed the GTK client and it's being phased out.
So we're back to square one.

  Allow to filter out locations/products where quantity is zero

Status in OpenERP Addons (modules):

Bug description:
  specially internal and outgoing moves
  .
  select a product
  select from location - it shows all available locations
  IMHO to be user friendly it should
  first show
  * only stock location with qty > 0 (one of my installations has >60 internal locations, most of them stock only a few or one product)
  * only on request all locations (release "only locations with qty button")

  currently there is no check if the qty is available on this location
  and the system allows quietly to create negative quantities.

  (IMHO in V5 there was a check on process/validate ?)

  In the same way, it is interesting:
  - in locations, to only show the products that actually are in a location when we press "products"
  - in products, to only show the locations where the product really is when we press "stock by location"
  - etc.
