installing the module in 7.0 with demo data  works, 
hence either this issue is fixed in v 7 or the problem is data dependent

  6.1 can not create property field of type float for products

Status in OpenERP Server:
  New

Bug description:
  Trying to populate a property field for product.product raises an
  error

  The value "product.product,1" for the field "ir_property.res_id" is
  not in the selection [- type reference]

  After applying the attached workaround storing the data works fine

  a module requiring this functionality can be found here

  this module intends to make products multi-company ready (different
  price for same product in different companies)
