I'm afraid my bug report hasn't been understood then.

What I was saying was that:

In order to comply to bugreporting as required by launchpad guidelines
themself  - see my quote at 3) - you need to know the exact version
number - including the build.

But OpenERP "About" does not provide it.

It's a bug. An inconsistency. Keeping it as is means making fun of
users.

Closing that bug as invalid means making big fun of users.
