Title:
"Where Used"/Bill of Materials Components search fails if Product Name
changes
Status in OpenERP Addons (modules):
Invalid
Bug description:
Summary: "Where Used"/Bill of Materials Components search fails if
Product Name changes. The search is going through old Product Names.
Bug found in OpenERP v7, 2014-04-20
Bug reproduced in http://7-0-31875-all.runbot.openerp.com
Bug reproduced in http://trunk-31858-all.runbot.openerp.com
Load demo data and all addons.
1) Go to Menu: Manufacturing>Configuration>Bill of Material Components
2) Seach components for Product "Computer Case"
3) Results: 3 BoMs.
4) Go to Product "Computer Case"
5) Change Product Name to "Computer xCase", add an "x" before the "Case".
6) Go back and search components for product "Computer xCase"
7) Results: None. Expected 3.
8) Search components for product "Computer Case" (The old now non existant name)
9) Results: 3. Expected: None.
Conclusion: The search is going through old product names instead of
the actual current product names.
The "where used" search will fail if you change the product name!!!
You can create a new BOM with the xCase product and then that BOM will
come up in a search for xCase. If you change the product name back
from xCase to Case then the new BOM will not come up in your next
search. So, only the original product names, the ones present when the
BOM was created, are stored and those are the ones being searched
through.
The "Where Used" search in OpenERP v7 at this moment is practically
absent.
