Greetings,

We need to integrate openERP inventory management with a 3rd application, and we don't know what is the best approach being new to openERPs general features & internal architecture. Thank you very much for your patience.

 Follows the details of the problem:
- the company's business is renting / selling medical machines and consumables.
- openERP already manages product purchase & stock moves from/to physical stores.
- 3rd party j2ee app already manages interventions & reports workflow, the former requires stock data (renting machine & consumables)

How to best integrate data for both systems? 
- export / import of stock data from openERP to j2ee-app & vice versa (possible corruption ?)
- an API available at openERP to update status of rental-machines or update quantity of available consumables (is there?)
- none of the above...
