[Bug 222339] Re: package openjdk-6-jre-headless 6b09-0ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade:
I figured out why is this happening.
When I first submit the bug report above, I am using a motherboard with
VIA C3 Samuel 2, which is a 686-class CPU but WITHOUT the "cmov"
instructions.
Now I have upgraded to a new motherboard with VIA C7-D 1.5Ghz, which is
a 686-class CPU WITH "cmov" instructions, now the problem gone away.
So I suspect it is another "C3 cmov" problem causing Segmentation fault
during installation of openjdk.
Goggling with "VIA C3 cmov", you would able to find out more information
concerning this cmov problem.
