[Bug 259313] Re: amd64 openjava webplugin does not run azureus webui applet

Is there a 64-bit plugin for Firefox that comes with sun-java6-jre? I've
got the jre installed but I can only find the plugins I already tried
when I look in Synaptic.

Bug description:
The applet for the swing webui plugin for Azureus (RemoteUIApplet.class) does not work in 64-bit Firefox with either the openjdk or iced tea web plugins.

It just displays a blank panel when it should ask for the user and password.

It works fine if you try to access it from a 32-bit environment.

I've tried the following configurations:

1. Azureus installed on a 32 bit system with the swing webui plugin installed: accessing the applet from a remote machine with 64 bit Ubuntu installed does not work, either with the openjdk plugin or the iced tea gcj plugin.

2. Azureus installed on a 32 bit system with the swing webui plugin installed: accessing the applet from a remote machine with 32 bit Hardy 8.04.1 installed does work, both with the openjdk plugin or the iced tea gcj plugin.

3. Azureus installed on a 32 bit system with the swing webui plugin installed: accessing the applet from Intrepid 32 bit running under VirtualBox in a 64 bit Hardy environment does work.

4. Azureus installed on a 64 bit Hardy 8.04.1 system with the swing webui plugin installed: accessing the applet on the local system does not work.

Version Information:

Linux kernel amd64 Hardy 2.6.24-21-generic
openjdk-6-jre 6b11-2ubuntu2
icedtea-gcjwebplugin 1.0-0ubuntu7
Azureus 3.1.1.0 installed on Hardy 2.6.24-21-generic i386, running under Java 1.6.0_0
Azureus swing web ui interface plugin 1.6.19
