[Bug 218869] Re: 8.04 Hardy: OpenJDK Java Web Start doesn't work with Firefox 3 if use default settings
@topias.virta,
Can you please install latest updates on your hardy system and try
reproducing the problem?
@fINTiP/Craig,
I have no issues on intrepid at least opening both geogebra as well as
cgoban. Both command line as well as opening from browser works. Any
chance your java alternatives are not setup properly?

Status in “openjdk-6” source package in Ubuntu: Confirmed
Bug description:
Binary package hint: icedtea-gcjwebplugin
OpenJDK Java Web Start cannot open java-programs in web. A fine example is GeoGebra WebStart:
http://www.geogebra.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=70&Itemid=57
If I click "Geogebra WebStart", it only opens OpenJDK Java Web Start "Certificates" window. I think Firefox uses command "/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/bin/javaws -viewer" to open this viewer - if i set Firefox to open geogebra.jnlp by command "/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-openjdk/bin/javaws" (just without '-viewer' -option, Geogebra loads and opens fine)
GeoGebra is only on example. I have same problem with other java-application too.
Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy
* firefox 3.0~b5+5nobinonly-0ubuntu2
* icedtea-gcjwebplugin 1.0-0ubuntu5
* openjdk-6-jre 6b09-0ubuntu1
