[Bug 234169] Re: firefox 3b5 crashes after a blank windows pops-up

Hi all.

Excuse me for taking me so much time to answer. The fact is that I will
continue using Ubuntu 8.04 for a while and I will not be able to test it
in a newer version in my computer in the near future - just hardware
issues.

Sure you already know this, but just in case, this is an extract from
mozilla.addons.org page for the flashblock plugin:

"All RECENT crashes on Ubuntu have been traced to one of two problems
(this may apply to gentoo and other debian based distros).

1. You are using the Firefox version from the Ubuntu repositories.

Install the official tarball from mozilla.com Most people on Unbuntu
report that the official release from mozilla doesn't crash in the same
circumstances that Ubuntu Firefox crashes. Also the official tarball is
reported to be much more stable.

2. You are using Flashplayer 10 beta on Ubuntu.

Users have reported that Flashplayer 9.0 r124 don't crash for those
specific pages. Unfortunately Flashplayer 9.0 r124 crashes with
RealPlayer streams and 10 Beta doesn't crash in this case. So I guess
it's one crash or the other."

Bug description:
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

When entering some web pages (most notabily the Yahoo web based classic mail manager) a blank window appears (to be more precise, a plain Frame with no components in java-swing terminology), then the tab where the page is open slows down and after some time - it could be just some seconds or a minute o two, firefox crashes.

It seems to be something realted with the IcedTea gcj plugin, but I can't confirm it yet. Ill try disabling it for a while.

Here is the stderr produced during a faulty session.

I'm using Ubuntu 8.04
