its happend to me in karmic ,

searching for compatible vm...
  testing /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre...found

after upgrading eclipse to 3.4.1 , attach with error report

Bug description:
Binary package hint: eclipse

eclipse crashes on kubuntu hardy.
with both eclipse from apt and eclipse from website.
I'm using java-sun6

I checked on #kubuntu-devel but didn't find anyone with the problem
